Treasurer’s Report
The treasurer’s report was presented: see attached. It was noted that last year’s ticket revenues were better than preceding years.
2006-2007 Budget
Mary Ellen presented the 2006-2007 budget and the 2005-2006 financial report. Tom made the motion to accept the 2005-2006 financial report and the 2006-2007 budget. Bill seconded the motion. Motion was passed.
Website
Tom shared that the web site received its first non-junk mail visit from a piano player in Florida; otherwise there are no significant changes.
October 28th Concert
Sandy will get the poster from Rosie and take the poster to the Wright County Journal Press. Mary Ellen reported that two articles will be in the Wright County Journal Press and something will be sent to the Carver County News as well. Pete will be on the local radio and will call to make arrangements.
Jolyn will be approaching the Buffalo Rotary for financial support and will make sure that if they do make a donation; inserts will be in the programs to acknowledge the support.
There was discussion regarding how to support the Suzuki children and families participation. There has been a request by Erin Walsh to make available one student and one adult ticket per child attending. She has requested 50 adult tickets and 50 student tickets.
A motion was made by Gretchen to approve the donation of 50 adult and 50 student tickets to the Suzuki students, and request that tickets be accounted for by limiting two tickets per child; and the rest of the tickets be returned. The motion was seconded by Mary Ellen. Motion was approved.
Tickets for the October concert and season tickets are available at the Buffalo Books Store.
Mary Ellen reported that Wells Fargo will donate cookies. It was reported that the Buffalo Tri-M will provide ushers and stage help.
Alternate/Substitute List
There was discussion about the need for generating an Alternate/Substitution list. There have been some musicians who have approached BCO members about playing. The need for string instruments has been high and BCO is very open for additional string players. For all other instruments it appears appropriate to establish an Alternate/Substitute list. Pete volunteered to audition people when necessary.
Mary Ellen made the motion to start an Alternate/Substitute list managed by the BCO president and Kristi seconded the motion. The motion passed.
Respectfully submitted by
Bill Tregaskis, acting secretary
