Marketing/Advertising for March Concert
Sandy will send out letters to just under 100 BCO supporters announcing the March Concert. A notice will be put in the local papers. Color posters will be printed up for display. Another photo of the orchestra will be taken before the May Concert.
Review of Bi-laws
It was noted that we were going to review the bi-laws at this meeting regarding attendance. It was suggested that this agenda item be moved to the March board meeting.
Treasurer’s report
Julie reported that we have about $19,000 in our checking account. We made about $447.32 profit on the December concert. The $1,000 grant from the Wright Hennepin Electric Co-op was used towards the December concert.
Tom made a motion to provide honorariums of $450 to the Wright Ringers Hand Bell Ensemble, $450 to the Wright Chamber Chorus, and $150 each to the Buffalo High School Choir, Band and orchestra. The motion was seconded by Julie and the motion was unanimously passed.
A Grand, Grand Overture
There was discussion regarding who are going to be chosen for playing the vacuum cleaners and shooting guns. Pete will speak to the folks at Concordia College where this has been done in the past to get an idea of he would like these parts presented. This will aid when letting volunteers know what is expected of them for the concert.
Eva Walsh
There are plans to feature Eva Walsh at our May 13th Concert.
Central Minnesota Arts Board
It was reported that Mary Ellen Lundsten submitted another grant to the Central Minnesota Arts Board.
BCO Stationary
It was suggested that there be some BCO stationary printed for use in thank you letters and other correspondence. We will use the existing BCO logo. Gretchen will follow up on this.
Adjourn
Sandy made a motion to adjourn and Rosie second the motion, motion passed.
Respectfully submitted by
Bill Tregaskis, Secretary
